The FoodSaver GameSaver Deluxe Vacuum Sealer was designed with the outdoorsman in mind, but it’s so versatile that everyone in your household may put it to use for all sorts of packaging jobs.
This channel (or suction) type vacuum sealer works with bags or bag rolls and comes with an accessory port and vacuum hose for external sealing. In addition to some great features for convenience and versatility, it’s built for more heavy duty use and carries a 10 year limited warranty.

- Manual, One-Touch Controls
- Moist/Dry Settings
- CrushFree™ Instant Seal Option
- Handles both Bags and Bag Rolls
- Accessory Port (hose included)
- Built-in Roll Holder & Bag Cutter
- Drip Tray (removable and dishwasher safe)
- Comes with 2 Rolls & 10 Pre-cut Pouches
- 10 Year Limited Warranty
All of the vacuum sealers in the “GameSaver®” line are built to withstand heavier duty use than FoodSaver’s other models. The main difference is that these units have larger motors and larger fans, and the FoodSaver GameSaver Deluxe carries a 10 year limited warranty. If you’re interested in very technical details you should give the company a call before you buy. From personal experience I can tell you they have a very friendly and knowledgeable customer service department.
Operation of the FoodSaver GameSaver Deluxe is hands-free – meaning that you just use both hands to press the lid down briefly until the motor engages, and then you release it and the machine will automatically shut itself off when finished.
Control options let you choose from 2 seal levels and 2 vacuum speeds so that you get the best results depending on the type of food you’re sealing. For delicate items, the trademarked “CrushFree” Instant Seal will let you stop the vacuum process abruptly in order to avoid over-compression.
The drip tray is removable and dishwasher safe for easier cleaning, but keep in mind that the only intended purpose of that tray is for accidental spills. With all its models, including this one, FoodSaver recommends that you flash freeze raw meat, seafood and poultry before vacuum sealing. That also applies to very juicy fruits and other high liquid content foods so that you don’t risk sucking too much liquid into the machine and damaging it.
You get a little help with counter clutter too because this unit accommodates internal bag roll storage. It also has a built-in bag cutter that saves you a lot of time, and possibly some frustration from trying to get a nice straight bag edge with scissors.
It’s recommended that you wait about 20 seconds between each pouch you seal so that you don’t overheat the unit, which is true of most channel vacuum sealers.
If you’re the only outdoorsman in your household don’t think you’ll have this appliance all to yourself. It’s way too versatile to be reserved only for game or fish. Some of its many other uses include:
- vacuum packing garden vegetables and other produce for long term freezer storage
- sealing cheese so it keeps longer without molding
- preparing meals and packaging for those no-time-to-cook nights
- sealing up leftovers so they stay fresh longer and don’t go to waste
- portion control for dieting or just to eliminate the temptation for “seconds”
- resealing snacks, crackers and chips that come in Mylar type bags
That isn’t all. If you purchase a few extras that aren’t terribly expensive, you can also seal jars, bottles and various other containers. See more below under Bags, Rolls & Containers and Optional Accessories.

The only owner’s manual available online is this generic User Manual & Recipe Book for the FoodSaver V3000 series. It pictures the V3040 model which has similar capabilities but a somewhat different control panel.(Back to Top)
Bags, Rolls & Containers
Bags & Bag Rolls
FoodSaver strongly recommends its own brand of bags and rolls. The material is BPA free and designed specifically to allow for maximum air removal and perform well with the heat level of FoodSaver vacuum sealers.
The entire line of FoodSaver brand bags and bag rolls is available on Amazon. Most of the time you’ll pay less when you buy in quantity. You can check Amazon’s prices here:
Other Food Containers
In order to use the resealable zipper bags mentioned above, you’ll need the FoodSaver Vacuum Zipper Bag Adapter. You’ll have to buy this directly from the manufacturer, but it’s not expensive (under $10).
Like many other FoodSaver sealers, the GameSaver also works with the following accessories:
- FoodSaver Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer (approx. $10)
- FoodSaver Regular-Mouth Jar Sealer (approx. $10)
- FoodSaver Quick Marinator (approx. $22)
- FoodSaver Bottle Stoppers (3-Pack) (approx. $13)

It’s hard to find a lot of bad reviews on this model. There are some reports of the unit breaking down within a year or less, but most date back to before 2013. The GameSaver that is the subject of this review (model no. T000-33270-P) carries a 10 year limited warranty, and every indication I’ve found confirms that FoodSaver stands behind their products. They actively monitor the web for questions and complaints and respond to them, and virtually no one reports bad experiences with their customer service.
The only other complaints seem to stem from unrealistic expectations, mainly involving batch processing. You won’t be disappointed as long as you understand that this is not the same as buying a heavy duty chamber sealer with a rotary oil pump. The GameSaver Deluxe is a basic channel vacuum sealer, and it lives up to the capabilities you should expect at this price. Prolonged batch processing is possible, but if you don’t pace yourself it will overheat. The same is true of all FoodSaver channel sealers, but the GameSaver may cool down a little more quickly than some others.
Most unfair are all the rock bottom ratings from people who say the unit broke after only a few months, or a year or two, but they never bothered to contact customer service. My apologies for the repetition, but the FoodSaver GameSaver Deluxe carries a 10 year limited warranty, and this company has an excellent reputation for good customer service.
On balance, consumer satisfaction is overwhelmingly positive. More than 90% of users give it high ratings and would recommend it to others. (To keep the numbers real, this doesn’t include any reviews from Walmart, Gander Mountain or Bass Pro because almost all of those are duplicated from the manufacturer’s website.) Among the favorite features most often mentioned are its ease of use, space saving internal roll storage, convenient bag cutter, and the fact that it includes an accessory port that allows for so many other sealing options. Most importantly, they are happy with the amount of air that gets removed from bags and how well meats and other foods stay fresh and free of freezer burn for long periods of time.(Back to Top)
