Shopping for the George Foreman Evolve Grill may seem confusing because it is available in three models, but this review will sort it out for you!
The two newer models are the GRP4800 and the GRP4842, and the most significant difference between these two is that one opens flat for griddling, and the other does not. There is also the older model GRP4EMB, which is no longer sold by the manufacturer but can still be found on Amazon.
No matter which model you choose, the George Foreman Evolve is an indoor electric contact grill with removable plates that are dishwasher safe. All three models have floating hinges, embedded heating elements, digital controls, and the patented slope design that drains fat to make foods healthier and lower in calories. Features on these three models are very similar, but there are some important differences you need to know before you buy. Read review…

This model differs greatly from the other indoor grills reviewed on this site, but it deserves space in the “indoor grill reviews” category because:
- Without its pedestal, it is indeed an indoor grill.
- Consumers love it, as evidenced by the hundreds of rave reviews you’ll find online.
- It’s been a George Foreman grill bestseller for years.
- Every person on the planet isn’t looking for a contact grill!
This George Foreman Indoor Outdoor Grill is designed for more conventional (my kids would say “old school”) convection type grilling. Whether you decide to cook indoors or out, this grill has a very large cooking surface that is sloped to drain fat from foods, and like all of the newer George Foreman models, its grill plate is removable for easy clean up.
The GGR50B is also very affordable – I found it online for less than $80. If you’re looking for a grill you can use either indoors or out, this model is an excellent choice. It isn’t a substitute for a contact grill, but at this price some people may even decide to buy both. Read review…

The BGR820XL model Breville Smart Grill is aptly named. A key feature is its “Element IQ” technology, but it’s a smart little appliance in a number of ways, from sensor controlled heating for excellent results to easy clean up.
You need to know up front that waffle plates are not available for this model, so if that’s one of your requirements, this one isn’t for you. Otherwise, it has a lot to offer. Not your ordinary indoor contact grill, this is one of the few that will open completely flat, and it’s the only one that has a “hover” lid setting. For anyone who uses a contact grill often and for cooking a wide variety of foods, this top of the line model can fill the bill.
The Breville Smart Grill is one of the more expensive models on the market, but it’s loaded with features, and over 90% of owners give it high ratings. Is it really a great value for the price? Read review…

I searched hard to find something wrong with this grill, read hundreds of reviews, comments, questions, and complaints. Yes, I did find some complaints.

The George Foreman GRP4EP Platinum Evolve Grill is one of the most versatile models made by this manufacturer. This top selling indoor grill has a large 84 square inch grilling surface, and it comes with 2 grill plates, a deep dish bake pan, and a mini burger insert. Other plates available (sold separately) include the waffle set, omelet & snack plate set, shallow griddle pan, and cupcake/muffin insert.
If you loved the GRP90WGR model, this is the most similar grill by George Foreman. Several online consumers gave it only 1 Star (bad), but I was surprised at what they complained about. Really? However, this counter top grill does have have some legitimate drawbacks that you should consider before you buy. This review covers both the good points and the bad. Read review…

The George Foreman GRP90WGR Next Grilleration Electric Nonstick Grill with 5 Removable Plates has a large, 84 inch grilling surface, and it is perfect for preparing a variety of delicious, healthy foods. The patented sloped design of this indoor contact grill allows fat to drain off food as it cooks, while the adjustable tilt angle allows for cooking on a flat surface when you prefer.
The GRP90WGR model has been one of the best George Foreman grills on the market for a number of years. Unfortunately, it is now very hard to find. The manufacturer has not released an official statement, but it appears to have been discontinued.
Don’t give up though! There are two places you might be able to find this grill, plus I can suggest two other similar and very good models. Read review…
